EMC & LVD

When the electrical & electronic products enter into the market, they are generally required to comply with the local standards or regulations for electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility.

Electromagnetic Compatibility Testing (EMC) for EU
EMC regulation governs the electromagnetic emissions of equipment in order to ensure that, in its intended use, such equipment does not disturb radio and telecommunication as well as other equipment. In addition to electromagnetic emissions, it also governs the immunity of such equipment to interference and seeks to ensure that this equipment is not disturbed by radio emissions normally present in the environment.

Low Voltage Directive (LVD) for EU
LVD covers consumer and capital goods designed to operate within specified voltage limits, including in particular electrical appliances, lighting equipment including ballasts, switch gear and control gear, electric wiring, appliance couplers and cord sets, electrical installation equipment, etc. The Directive provides the requirements with respect to health and safety covering all risks, thus ensuring that electrical equipment is safe in its intended use.
